Applications:
Network ready and simple to install, the CPD/220 offers two ports of DID and two ports of outbound faxes. Ideal for configurations where slot space is a premium, this 2 x 2 board is the perfect solution for medium to large fax traffic on a LAN. DID is generally viewed as the most foolproof and transparent method for the precision routing of calls, offering a high degree of security for both the sender and the recipient. DID consists of one or more trunk lines between a telephone company central office (CO) and a customer's location. When an outside caller reaches a CT system configured with a CPD/220 board, the CO signals the board for service. An available trunk is then activated by the CO. The board detects loop current from the CO and responds with a "wink" start signal that informs the CO that the board is ready to receive the incoming addressing information. Typically, the last few digits in the dialed number provide the information needed to route the call to the proper extension. The CPD/220 is designed for DID and polling applications. Ideal for security and convenience, LAN fax server users will have the ability to receive faxes routed specifically to their desktop. With the CPD/220 there is no operator intervention and no chance of a colleague viewing a personal fax from the unattended fax machine tray. The CPD/220 is completely scalable and compatible with other GammaFax analog boards so that network administrators and integrators can mix and match GammaLink hardware for a customized configuration.
